Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has adopted two dogs from a local rescue home, where 60 dogs died in a blaze last week.

The Italian international posted an image on his Instagram page of him lovingly holding two Staffordshire Bull Terriers, saying that now they have a new home.

Known for showing love towards animals, Balotelli reportedly offered a five-figure donation to the arson-hit Manchester Dogs' Home in September, the Mirror reported.

Balotelli is reportedly expected to start for Liverpool against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup on Monday night.
