The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the body governing men's tennis, will review its controversial extreme heat policy before 2015 Australian Open, following multiple player meltdowns in Melbourne.
The issue will be discussed at the next ATP player council meeting in Indian Wells in March, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
According to tournament director Craig Tiley, the planning will feature a third retractable roof working over Margaret Court Arena in a grand slam first, more shade and seating, and other improvements in the next stage of Melbourne Park's redevelopment.
A number of men and women players have suffered severe reactions to the heat, including Frank Dancevic, Shaui Peng, Ivan Dodig, Varvara Lepchenko, Galina Voskoboeva and Jamie Murray.
