About 75 motorcyclists recently passed through several northeast states via Kolkata to promote better understanding and unity between the region and the rest of the country.
The team was flagged off from Shahid Minar for its tour to the Indian National Army (INA) complex at Moirang and Khongjom.
At Moirang, the motorcyclists paid homage to INA soldiers.
En route to Khongjom, the team paid tribute to Hijam Irabot, a communist leader at Kakching in Thoubal District and visited the war memorial site at Khongjom. They also paid homage to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Moirang's INA memorial complex.
The team, headed by Sandip Mahind-a doctor turned social activist from Pune-comprised of students, businessmen, government employees, former government employees and social workers.
The cyclists began their tour from Pune and concluded it at Khongjom in Manipur.
