Sean Penn was helped by Charlize Theron and Bill Clinton and among other celebs to raise 6 million dollars for earthquake- struck Haiti, it has been revealed.
The Academy Award winner gathered some of his richest and most famous friends at the Montage Beverly Hills for his annual pre-Golden Globes to benefit his Haiti relief organization, E! Online reported.
The 54-year-old actor told the publication that it is a essential support and at a certain point when there is a disaster or a conflict in an area, there are grant monies for organizations like his but they dry up pretty quickly when one moves into a development phase and so this particular night is essential to keep the work that they do going.
The four-hour gala raised a whopping 6 million dollars to continue efforts to rebuild Haiti after it was hit by an earthquake five years ago.
