The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused the Congress Party of instigating violence in Haryana during the Jat quota stir.
The BJP referred to an audio tape, which has a close aide of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, allegedly inciting more violence.
Party Secretary Shrikant Sharma said, "It is clear from the tape that there was a big conspiracy against the state government. The BJP expects Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to refrain from indulging in divisive politics."
Congress last night sought explanation from Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee delegate Virender over the audio clip in which he is accused of talking to a Khap leader in order to allegedly incite violence amid the ongoing Jat agitation.
Virender, a close aide of Hooda, said the voice in the clip was his, but the conversation has been doctored.
