The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday termed as 'appalling' Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's charge of a conspiracy to de-throne the AAP Government.

"Manish Sisodia saying that there is a conspiracy to de-throne them is absolutely appalling. The people do not have mere understanding of the Constitution, the people who do not follow the Constitution of the country are saying such is really astonishing," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

"Everything has been done within the constitutional rights and we are seeing the kind of confrontation and obstructionism that Arvind Kejriwal has created in the administration of Delhi. If he does not have any faith in his own government system, he does not have trust in his own colleagues of bureaucracy, then how he will fulfill the promises that he had made for the people of state," he added.

Sisodia had earlier accused the BJP of trying to run the government through Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.

"BJP through Lieutenant Governor is trying to de-stabilize the government. This is the first time that L-G is directly giving orders to civil workers. He has cornered the Chief Minister, the Cabinet and some people are trying to run the government through the L-G by giving orders to civil workers," said Sisodia.

The comments came in the backdrop of senior bureaucrat Shakuntala Gamlin assuming office as the acting chief secretary despite the Aam Aadmi Party government's opposition.

The AAP had accused Gamlin of being extremely close to power companies in Delhi and alleged that she was lobbying for their interests.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, meanwhile, has sought an appointment with President Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the matter.
