Bharatiya Janata Party vice president C P Thakur on Monday, clarified that political DNA is a metaphor and the term 'Bimaru state' was one where Bihar was already sub-listed under it.
"Political DNA would be estimated, but India is not doing it. In the 60's, when DNA studies started, India had not taken part. Political DNA can probably be estimated in Cambridge, if they have such a facility. Political DNA is not literal, but is a metaphor," said Thakur
Thakur said: "They have to first send the DNA of their leaders before sending the DNA of Bihar's people."
"There is no use of making this a political issue. There is no meaning to political DNA, it's just a metaphor. Bihar is not a foolish state. Bihar's people are more intelligent than the leaders of Bihar's. Even Gandhi saw Bihar's intelligence and started his movement from here. Bihar removes leadership if they realise there worthless," he added.
'Bimaru state' is not coined by Narendra Modi, it's a term signifying states like Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and more but Modi said we have pull Bihar out of that category. These people don't wish for Bihar to come out of that status, wanting Bihar to remain there," said Thakur.
Observing that Bihar was part of the BIMARU states, Modi said BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan were able to usher in development and bring the states out of the BIMARU status.
BIMARU denotes the backward states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
