BJP seeks Rahul Gandhi's explanation on lands acquired by 'private citizen' Robert Vadra

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hit back at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for accusing the NDA Government of denying rights to the poor, farmers and tribals, saying the latter should answer to the fact that how acres of land could be acquired by 'private citizen' Robert Vadra

"It is astonishing, it is ridiculous that Rahul Gandhi goes to Rajasthan and says that not a single inch of land would be allowed to be acquired by the Rajasthan Government for the welfare of the people. Gandhi should answer to the fact that how acres and acres of land could be acquired by private citizen, Robert Vadra," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.

"The same Rahul Gandhi, who did not object then, is objecting to the fact that if government acquires an inch of land meant for the welfare of the poor then he would not allow that to happen. It is astonishing and only exposes the real face of Congress Party," he added.

The Congress vice-president earlier lashed out at the Centre and said that his party will not allow the NDA Government to acquire "even an inch of land" in the country.

Gandhi said the farmers and laborers are now feeling that the government is not theirs.

"The poor people are feeling that the government is not theirs. One promise after the other is made. We are going to be the manufacturing hub, we are going to be the IT hub. We are tired of all these new ideas. Please implement one idea. Let us see what you are capable of doing. Take one thing, take action and show the people of India what you can do, because the people of India are not able to see it," he said.

The Congress vice-president, who reached out to the farmers during his 'padyatra' here, also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the controversies surrounding former IPL boss Lalit Modi and the Vyapam scam.
