Thanking the people of Maharashtra for reposing their faith in his party's vision, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya on Sunday said that his party would provide a mini-Modi government in the state.

Somaiya added that the party's state unit and central leadership would plan the further strategy after the final tally is out.

"People have expressed their faith in BJP and Modiji's vision. We thank the people of Maharashtra. The BJP will provide a mini-Modi government in Maharashtra. After we receive the final tally later today, the BJP's state unit and central leadership will plan the further strategy," he told a press conference here.

He also explained that the BJP will mull on taking support from those parties which share a belief in its manifesto and the Prime Minister's vision.

"After the final tally, we will think about those who show their belief in our manifesto and Modi's vision. We are going to shoulder the responsibility now," Somaiya added.

Another BJP leader Shrikant Sharma, mocked the Congress for its drubbing in the elections, and stated that both Haryana and Maharashtra are celebrating 'Congress Mukti Diwas' today.

Trends show that BJP has led a surge in Haryana, where it's leading in 41 seats while in Maharashtra it is leading in 111 seats and may require an ally. The Congress, however, is facing a rout in both the states with party leaders conceding defeat.
