BSE closes 74.70 points, NIFTY 20.70 points down

Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed today 74.70 points down to stand at 27,729.67.

The National Stock Exchange (NIFTY) closed 20.70 points down to stand at 8,360.85.

Coromandel and BHEL were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 4.10 percent and 4.06 percent respectively.

Share values of WelCorp and Auropharma increased by 3.35 percent and 3.34 percent respectively.

The top losers in Group A included Persistent and Sun TV, with decreases of 12.68 percent and 8.96 percent. JP Associates and Voltas decreased by six percent and 5.42 percent at the close of trade.

The auto sector is down 150.70 points at 18,621.79, while the banking sector is down 44.21 points at 21,046.80.

The realty sector is down 13.21 points at 1,411.84.

The Indian currency is down 0.20 percent at Rs 63.65 to the dollar.
