BSF deputy inspector general, M. F. Farooqi, said troops observed movement on both sides of the border with Pakistan, and they opened fire as miscreants ignored their challenge.
"They (miscreants) had inserted a pipe in the fence. They ran away leaving the pipe as it is when they were challenged and fired upon. There was 17 kilogram heroine, and its value, as I have been told, in the international market is 85 crores rupees," Farooqi said.
