China's smartphone frenzy is slowly coming to an end with IDC forecasting a 20 percent year-over-year growth rate.

According to PC World, IDC's projection show even slower growth in the future.

IDC analyst Kiranjeet Kaur said that over the next few years, the smartphone growth was expected to be in single digits.

She said that despite the market condition, smartphone vendors continue to ship huge quantities to the country.

The report said that in this year's third quarter, China's smartphone shipments reached 105 million, up by only 1 million units from the previous quarter.
