The Chief Ministers of the Congress-led states are likely to skip the meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Land Acquisition Bill, ahead of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.

Media reports have speculated that the move is aimed at building more pressure on the Centre ahead of the Monsoon Session.

Prime Minister Modi has called a Niti Aayog meeting on July 16, with all chief ministers a part of the body's governing council.

The Congress currently has Chief Ministers in nine states.
