Congress refuses to be drawn into deliberations within BJP over Advani, Sushma

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Manish Tewari, termed that the discussions within the BJP over what roles will be given to their senior leaders as mere conjecture of the BJP and refused to be drawn into it.

"We are thirty-six hours to counting and the people have exercised their mandate. The votes are now locked in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Now if some party wants to do certain internal confabulations and as to why they are doing it, it is they who are in the best position to make any comment about it," Tewari said.

"In so far as we are concerned , I think it is appropriate for everybody to await the results. Once the results come that would determine the electoral strategy of every political party for the future," he added.

With exit polls predicting a possible BJP win in these elections, the party's top leaders have swung into action in a series of consultations with veteran leader LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj.
