Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Monday criticized Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Mohammad Asif's anti-India statement, saying he should have read his history before making such a statement.
"If the Pakistan Defence Minister would have read the history of 60-70 years, then, he would not have made such a comment. I would advise him to read history. Making this kind of statement is unfortunate," Alvi told ANI.
"His remark reminds me of Iraq's deputy prime minister, who always used to say if America attacks us, then there will be a pool of blood where American soldiers will be floating. Those who talk large, always stoop low," he added.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Sunday warned India that it will suffer 'heavy losses' which it would 'remember for decades' if it tried to 'impose' a war on his country.
"Pakistan's armed forces will defend every inch of their motherland at every cost," he added.
