Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director, Ranjit Sinha on Friday said that India is actively fine tuning laws to the requirements of the International Conventions like the United Nations Conventions against Corruption (UNCAC).
Sinha said that India is trying to make changes in its laws to meet international standards.
"All of us share not just geography but problems due to crime and corruption as well. Our laws are undergoing revisions and amendments to be capable of tackling the rapidly changing white collar and organised crime scenario," he said while speaking at the Seventh Interpol Global Programme on Anti-corruption, Financial crime and Asset recovery here today.
"India is actively fine tuning its laws to the requirements of the International Conventions like the United Nations Conventions against Corruption (UNCAC),"he said.
The five-day programme, which started on Monday, was inaugurated by Sinha. It has been organised with the partnership of CBI, Interpol, U.S. department of Justice and U.S. Security and Exchange commission for training law enforcement officers of South Asia.
The programme covered not only important International Conventions and laws defining corruption but also focused on the detection of bribery by companies and private entities, patterns and scheme of bribery as well as methods of freezing corruption money.
