Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N. Srinivasan's arrested son-in-law, Gurunath Meiyappan's police custody has been extended till May 31.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Crime Branch police stepped up their investigations at Meiyappan's house. On Monday, a seven-member team had searched Meiyappan's yacht and visited a hotel owned by Vikram Aggarwal who is suspected to be the man called 'Victor' in betting circles.
Sources said a couple of Meiyappan's relatives were with the sleuths when a few cupboards in the house were opened. In an earlier search the police had taken away Meiyappan's identity and visiting cards, besides Chennai Super Kings paraphernalia.
The Tamil Nadu Crime Branch- Criminal Investigation Department and the Mumbai police remained non-committal on the detention of hotelier Aggarwal who is hiding.
"We have neither detained him nor has he surrendered before us," CB-CID chief Narinder Pal Singh said.
