Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja said Tuesday he did not give much importance to exit poll projections showing the BJP-led NDA winning the elections until the final results are out.

"There are several exit polls which give different projections. All have given a large share to BJP-led NDA. Even in one exit poll, there are serious discrepancies. Till that time everyone should keep fingers crossed. We will have to see the actual counting as to what is the verdict of the people. When we use psephology as a science to analyse voting pattern, one should be very objective, otherwise, it may not be objective," Raja said.

He also added that the relevance of the Left Parties will be felt after this elections even more in the coming days ahead,"The Left cannot be washed away. It will continue to be a force to be reckoned with. The relevance of Left will be felt more once the counting is over. The presence of left is a historic need in the parliament for the country to move forward and progress."

On Monday, when the last phase of polls concluded, several television channels projected the BJP-led NDA to be a clear frontrunner to win the 2014 election in their exit polls.
