Exit polls suggest NDA will cross 272 seats mark

With the polling for the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections completed, the exit polls suggest that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance will achieve its best ever tally in the elections while the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) will register its worst ever performance.

According to Times Now ORG exit poll, the BJP-led NDA will get around 249 seats whereas the Congress-led UPA government might score around 148 seats. The poll also shows that regional parties will get 146 seats combined.

The C-Voter exit poll suggests that the NDA might get around 289 seats while the UPA will get only 101 seats.

The CNN-IBN CSDS-Lokniti exit poll suggests that NDA will get a lion's share of around 270-282 seats while the UPA will get around 92-102 seats only.

The Headlines Today exit poll suggests the NDA will get 272 plus seats, while the UPA will be struck at 115 seats.

The ABP NEWS - NIELSEN exit poll too suggests that the NDA will get more than 281 seats whereas the UPA will get only 97 seats.

All the polls have shown huge gains for the NDA in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. In Southern states, the regional parties will be getting the lion share of seats.

In 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the UPA was able to get 262 seats while the NDA got only 159 seats.
