Denesh Ramdin ecstatic to join Trinbago Knight Riders for remainder of CPL

Denesh Ramdin has expressed his pleasure to join his home franchise, the Trinbago Knight Riders, for the rest of Caribbean Premier League's (CPL) fourth edition after featuring for Guyana Amazon Warriors for a few seasons.

Ramdin has replaced seamer Javon Searles, who was ruled out of the squad with an injury to his right shoulder.

The Knight Riders got a comfortable 25-run win in their last match against the Barbados Tridents and they now head to Jamaica to take on Chris Gayle and the Tallawahs.

"It is good to join the Knight Riders and get a few wins under our belts. It was a very high pressure game against the Tridents, it was the first time we have beaten Barbados on this ground," said Ramdin.

"Confidence is high going to Jamaica, they always play good at home. They have some key players, Andre Russell and Kumar Sangakkara, you have to take them out of the game to beat them. Then we go on to St Lucia which is a very good batting track down there," he added.

The Knight Riders are currently in third place in the CPL table and are well placed to qualify but Ramdin feels there are still areas for improvement and with Brendon McCullum set to come back into the side they can get even better.

"All in all I think the batting has been clicking. There are some areas in the bowling where we can improve, cutting down on the boundary balls. So far Colin Munro has done a fantastic job, and Hashim Amla, what can you say about him? He has been magnificent at the top of the order. Hopefully we can have players back, McCullum is keen to go out there and express himself," the 31-year-old said.

"It is very important that you have momentum. The first couple of games TKR didn't have that. It is slowly building up. We haven't played our perfect game yet. There is room for improvement in our fielding and we haven't got that big start with the bat. Hopefully we can continue to build right throughout the tournament," Ramdin added.
