'Departing' skipper Vidic admits everyone lost belief in Man U during 'dreadful' season

The departing Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has admitted that everyone lost belief in the team during the club's dreadful season.

Vidic said that the players, manager and club all were being questioned about United's poor show during the Premier League this season though he has not directly blamed David Moyes for the club's decline.

According to the Guardian, the departing skipper said that people end up saying that the players are not good enough and they need to buy better ones, and the Serb said that it had been a bad time and the players could have done better, but everyone had lost belief in the team.

Vidic, whose eight-and-a-half-year association with the club will end with a move this summer to Internazionale, said that he is not saying that Moyes' way was bad, but the United squad feels more comfortable playing a certain way of football.

Vidic said that the best he can say is that Moyes tried really hard, he had been professional, adding that the Scot was really committed to the job and desperately wanted to do well, but unfortunately that did not happen.

Moyes took United reigns in his hands after Sir Alex Ferguson appointed him as his successor last month but the Scot's six-year contract came to an end after he got sacked just 10 months into his deal because of the club's poor performance this season, the report added.
