Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri is considering international retirement after the playmaker was left out of France coach Didier Deschamps' 23-man national squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
Nasri, who was also left out of France's 2010 World Cup squad by then coach Raymond Domenech, said that he needs to take some time now to think about the national team because it has been twice now that they have taken away a World Cup from him.
According to the Guardian, Nasri, who helped City bag the second Premier League trophy for the second time in three seasons, said that one can go around and ask any player if they are happy to be on the bench, and nobody is going to say yes to it.
The Frenchman added that he needs to think a little bit during the holiday about what would be his future in the national team, because missing two World Cups is really hard for a player.
Although the midfielder's absence from France's World Cup squad was greeted with widespread surprise, Nasri confessed that it had been a shock but he was prepared mentally.
