Devender Kumar Sikri, a former Gujarat cadre IAS officer, on Monday took oath as the Chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
He was administered the oath by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Sikri has become the third chairman of the fair trade regulator.
"As chief I'll take it forward from where they left and make it a more robust team," Sikri said .
He succeeded Ashok Chawla, who superannuated on January 7.
Former Finance Secretary Chawla had taken over as the chairman from Dhanendra Kumar, who demitted office in June 2011.
