World number one Novak Djokovic has a strange Australian Open tradition and the Serb revived it again on Sunday evening during his pre-tournament news conference.
The Serb stopped talking about tennis for a moment, as per his little tradition, got off from his chair and distributed chocolates to the media during his pre-tournament news conference.
Djokovic, who is a crowd-pleaser on court and off, glided through the aisles of the auditorium on Sunday chatting about how many languages he spoke and reportedly delighted a Chinese journalist by saying 'Ni hao,' or hello, as he graciously offered sweets with a smile.
Djokovic said that he has a strict diet and the chocolates are only for the media adding that one could have two if they like, repeating his press conference before the 2014 Australian Open, News.com.au reported.
The Serb claimed that it was is not bribery, just good spirits, adding that it was a little delight ahead of the tournament.
Djokovic, who is coming off a strong season that included winning his second Wimbledon title and a return to the number one spot in the rankings, is vying for his fifth Australian Open title, an accomplishment that would raise his overall number of grand slam trophies to eight.
Djokovic is scheduled to play his first-round match on Tuesday against Slovenian qualifier Aljaz Bedene, the report added.
