India's batting woes continued in the third ODI of the Carlton Mid Tri-series as they were beaten by England on Tuesday by nine wickets and 135 balls remaining.

India's batting line-up struggled from the start of the match and were bowled out for 153 in just 39.3 overs of their allotted 50 after they won the toss and decided to bat first.

The defeat was India's second after they had lost by four wickets to host Australia on Sunday.

Openers Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan failed to get on a solid start with the later falling prey to James Anderson's express delivery as he was caught behind the wicket for just one run by keeper Joss Buttler.

Rahane went on to make 33 runs before he fell prey to Steven Finn, who claimed five wickets in the match to disrupt the Indian batting lineup.

Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli (four off eight balls) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (34 off 61 deliveries) were also Finn's express deliveries' victims.

The highest score from an Indian batsman came by World Cup surprise inclusion Stuart Binny, who fell six runs short of his half-century as he was caught by new England skipper Eoin Morgan for his individual 44 off Anderson's delivery.

Anderson claimed four wickets in the match.

Both Finn and Anderson were on fire as they combined together to claim nine Indian wickets delivering impressive match-figures of 5-33 and 4-18 respectively.

England chased down the total with easy, losing just one wicket that was claimed by Binny, as opener Muhammad Ali was caught by Kohli for his individual score of eight off the all-rounder's delivery.

Opening batsman Ian Bell guided England to victory with his unbeaten knock of 88 runs that included eight fours. He was helped by James Taylor, who hit 56 runs, to chase the modest total of 153 runs.

England won the match by nine wickets, chasing down the total in just 27.3 overs.
