With India entering into its next phase of growth, it is expected to add 110 million people to its workforce in the next ten years', including youth and women. According to a study conducted by McKinsey Global Institute in 2015, if India can increase women's labor force participation by 10 percentage points (68 million more women) by 2025, India could increase its GDP by 16 percent," said President FICCI Ladies Organisation, Vasvi Bharat Ram.
"This, however is an uphill task if we go by the current statistics of participation of Indian women in its workforce. On the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Index, the ranking of Indian women in economic empowerment is 0.3, where 1.0 means equality," added Ram.
"We will also expand and strengthen our initiatives to compliment Government programs like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and Make in India," added Bharat Ram.
