"I will try my best to take Jatiya Party to the power," the Daily Star quoted Ershad as saying.
The councillors also re-elected GM Quader and Ruhul Amin Howlader as co-chairman and secretary general of the party respectively at the national council held at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhakam, reports the Daily Star.
After the names of the candidates were proposed by the election commissioner, the councillors and delegates supported the proposals raising hands and finally through voice votes.
The entire process took only five to seven minutes.
