Art Garfunkel has announced that he will return to the stage four years after suffering a paralysis of the vocal cords.

The 72-year-old singer, who was forced to cancel his reunion with Paul Simon, has booked a month-long American tour from the end of January, Independent reported.

Garfunkel said that his voice is back and he is fighting again as he believes that he has grown through adversity and is excited about his stage show.

He was diagnosed with vocal cord paralysis, a weakness of the vocal folds in 2010 and had promised his fans that his voice would return by being patient.
