British F1 racer Lewis Hamilton has expressed his unhappiness at the sport's ruling body over safety concerns, after tyres of five cars exploded in Sunday's British Grand Prix.
According to the Mirror, Hamilton had been leading the race until his Pirelli tyres exploded, with safety cars being sent to rescue the Englishman ensuring that he came back to finish fourth in a race won by teammate Nico Rosberg.
Drivers are considering a boycott of next Sunday's German Grand Prix with deep concerns over Pirelli tyres, with Hamilton going on to say that it was the first time in his career that he felt so much in danger.
F1 officials also said that they were equally worried that drivers could be hurt in a smash, by flying debris, or marshals could be injured while clearing wreckage, with Pirelli boss Paul Hembery being summoned for talks with the FIA governing body in Paris on Wednesday.
McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said that something serious needed to be done apart from holding tests or meetings.
