Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal, who has been able to take just five wickets in the two Tests against Sri Lanka, has rubbished suggestions that he is facing burnout due to excessive Test cricket.

Ajmal, who has taken 164 wickets in 32 Tests at an average of five wickets per match, said he had never had such a bad response from the pitches.

Denying that he was feeling overworked, he said Pakistan is not playing that much Test cricket so there's no workload on him.

Ajmal further said there's no pressure on him and lack of wickets against Sri Lanka is part of ups and downs of the game.

He further said he is doing the hard work and will bounce back, and added that the ball isn't spinning and Lankans are playing very cautiously.

Ajmal went wicketless in his 49 overs in the second innings of the first Test in Abu Dhabi, where Sri Lanka came away with a draw after conceding a 179-run lead, Dawn reports.
