A sea of villagers, political activists and leaders of various parties have gathered at the site where the last rites of former union minister Gopinath Munde will be performed in Parli Village in Mharashtra's Beed District.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray were among those present at the funeral site to pay their respects.
Villagers and activists were seen offering their salutations and waving both their hands at the hearse and coffin containing Munde's body.
The funeral will be held in the Munde-owned Vaijnath Sugar Factory grounds.
Munde died in a car crash in Delhi last Tuesday while on his way to Delhi Airport to take a flight to Mumbai.
