Hussey says 'dasher' Warner's defence skills will make him 'most dangerous batsman'

Former Australian batsman Michael Hussey has said that an improved defensive technique has set up explosive opener David Warner to become potentially the most dangerous batsman in world cricket.

Warner returns to his Twenty20 form for the Sydney Thunder in their Big Bash League clash as a player now proficient at dominating the red and white ball, with the Thunders hoping that Warner smashes the Sydney Sixers into submission at the SCG on Saturday.

According to News.com.au, Warner, who will be back in whites again come Boxing Day, has been crucially helped with an improved defence to fall back on during tough periods at the crease, with Hussey saying that with his attacking instincts, Warner is a different and a potentially more dangerous player to the one he shared a dressing room last year.

Hussey, who is Warner's teammate at the Thunders, said that unlike the past, the opener's defence looks solid at the moment inspite of his attacking technique and the range of shots he has got, adding that he has been impressed by Warner's sound defence especially when England bowlers had hit him the hardest.

Hussey also said that when Warner is confident, nothing can stop him, adding that although the Thunders were a 'basket case' last season, the team would not carry any mental scars now.
