ICC restrains Brit newspaper to prevent further anti-corruption investigation leaks

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly issued a restrain order against a British newspaper in order to prevent further leaks into the organization's anti-corruption investigation reaching the public.

The ICC is reportedly planning to launch an investigation into how New Zealand players Brendon McCullum and Lou Vincent's testimony got leaked to the Daily Mail.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the British newspaper published the testimony details that outlined Vincent's involvement in fixing across at least five countries and McCullum's experience in being approached twice by the same player to fix games.

ICC president Alan Isaac revealed that they had taken steps to restrain the newspaper to prevent it from releasing further information it holds and said that they tried to stop it on the grounds that it is not helpful.

New Zealander Isaac said that the leaking of the confidential testimony is totally unacceptable as it was distributed in tightly controlled fashion and unfortunately somebody has let the ICC down.

Isaac said that the ICC is going to have to investigate how widely those individual people may have distributed the report from there.
