Banned Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir is likely to return to the domestic cricket next month after the conditions of his five-year ban for spot-fixing were relaxed.

Following a review in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) anti-corruption code, banned players could play domestic cricket before their ban ends.

It has also been revealed that the ICC would decide next week when Amir could return to the game.

According to the BBC, a Pakistan Cricket Board official said that it was most likely that Amir would get a reprieve to play domestic cricket.

Amir, former captain Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif were all banned for different terms in February, 2011 for their involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal in England with Amir given a minimum ban of five years.
