After India conveyed its concerns to China over the blocking of its move in the UN for action against Pakistan over the release of Mumbai terror attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the BJP on Wednesday said New Delhi intends to fight terrorism tooth and nail.
"India's intention was clear, and is clear. India's intention is to fight terrorism tooth and nail. The move that the Chinese government has taken; the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson has rightly said that the issue has been taken up to the highest level in China because India firmly believes that we have to undo terrorism," Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.
As per reports, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup has said that India has raised the issue bilaterally with members of the UN Sanctions Committee and in case of China it was taken up at the highest level.
Earlier at a meeting of the UN Sanctions Committee, India reportedly had sought action against Pakistan for Lakhvi's release in the 26/11 trial saying it was a violation of UN resolution but the Chinese representatives blocked the move on grounds that New Delhi did not provide sufficient information.
