New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): The Indo-Polish creative art was highlighted at the launch of the revamped Polish Institute in Delhi.
Indian furniture designer Gunjan Gupta and Polish designers Gosia and Tomek Rygalik came together recently for a project titled 'Tableware' at the newly opened Polish Institute.
Through display of traditional Indian and Polish utensil ware, the designers presented design philosophies of their respective countries on the international design stage.
The designers are also excited about the Polish-Indo Design Project 2015, which aims to develop interesting array of products to be showcased internationally by Indian and Polish students. For the same, the designers conducted a few workshops to select two students to participate in a study visit to Poland later this year on the invitation of the Polish Institute.
Talking about the collaboration, Gunjan feels that it is an excellent opportunity to promote Indian art and aesthetics abroad and to give exposure to students as well.
"The aim is to exhibit common grounds and differences between Indian and Polish culture and their sensibilities via Indian crafts and Polish industrial products," added Gunjan.
The Deputy Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Arun Kumar Sahu, expressed hope that this exchange programme improves the relations between both nations.
"We are ready to provide scholarships and fellowships to meritorious students," said Sahu.
Anna Tryc Bromley, Director of the Polish Institute New Delhi, feels that culture and art have immense potential to bridge gaps between the two nations.
"I wish that the new premises of the Polish Institute will become a second home for creative people and their ideas from both countries," said Brombley.
