Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday praised the budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, however he said that it would have been better had people been provided relief in Income Tax up to a limit of Rs 5 lakh.

"It would have been better had people been provided relief in Income Tax up to a limit of Rs 5 Lakh. I'm sure a decision will be taken in this regard soon," Baba Ramdev told ANI.

However, he said that it is a 'nation-building budget'.

"This budget will bring good days for the poor laborers and farmers," said Baba Ramdev.

He added that this budget is poor man friendly and focuses more on constructing roads in villages, house for the poor while giving more than one and a half times its produce to the farmer.

"One of the best things about this budget is that for the first a prime minister has actually given so much thought to the farmer," he added. Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the General Budget 2018-19 at the Parliament.

Prime Minister Modi also welcomed the budget and said that it is development friendly.

He also said that the budget focuses not only on Ease of Doing Business but also on Ease of Living for the common man.
