The father of Chelsea captain John Terry has reportedly been cleared of the charges of headbutting and racially abusing an Asian-origin man outside a London pub last year.

Ted Terry was accused of calling railway customer services worker Amarjit Talafair a 'f***ing Paki' before headbutting him outside a pub on March 22 last year.

However, the Daily Star reports that a jury at London's Old Bailey found the former England captain's father not guilty of one count of racially-aggravated common assault after a five-day trial, adding that Terry was also cleared of one count of racially-aggravated fear or provocation of violence.

The report mentioned that two other men, who were with Terry on the night of the incident, were also found not guilty of racially-aggravated fear or provocation of violence.
