New Zealand seamers scalped flurry of final session wickets as Pakistan were left struggling on 129 for 7 in their second innings at the end of the third day's play of the opening Test at the Hagley Oval here in Christchurch.

After bundling out New Zealand for 200 runs in their first innings before lunch, Pakistan were looking to take control of the game, and had lost just one wicket in their first 40 overs at the crease.

However, resuming on 50 for 1 after Tea, New Zealand bowlers found their stride with six wickets falling in the final session to bring the game back in the home side's favour.

At stumps, Pakistan grabbed a 62-run lead, with Sohail Khan unbeaten at the crease on 22.

Trent Boult was the pick of the Kiwi bowlers as he took three for 18 followed by Neil Wagner's two for 21.

Tim Southee and Colin de Grandhomme also chipped in with a wicket each.

Earlier, the Black Caps collapsed with the bat on Day Three, where they lost their last seven wickets for 95 runs to be rolled for 200 in 59.5 overs in reply to Pakistan's first innings score of 133.
