ATP World Tour commentator Robbie Koenig has said that Stanislas Wawrinka earned more respect and credibility after winning his second major title at Roland Garros.
Wawrinka produced a perfect blend of precision and power to bring an end to Djokovic's 28-match winning streak and also dash the Serbian's hopes of securing a career Grand Slam.
Reflecting on Wawrinka's triumph, Koenig said that both his wins in Grand Slam finals have come against world number ones (2014 Australian Open win over Rafael Nadal), Sport24 reported.
Eighth seed Wawrinka magnificently recovered from a set down to beat world number one Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in an enthralling contest that lasted three hours and 12 minutes.
Describing Wawrinka as 'fearless', Koeing said that the Swiss has got a three-pronged attack (big serve, forehand and backhand) as very few players posses that asset.
