Australian coach Darren Lehmann has lavished praise on the touring West Indies side for their brilliant fight back during his side's 177-run victory in the second Test in Melbourne.

Skipper Jason Holder (68) and Dinesh Ramdin (79) provided strong resistance before the Caribbean side lost the three-match Test series against Australia.

Lehmann said that the struggling tourists had played extremely well despite losing the series, insisting them to continue performing in the same way to improve themselves as a side, Sport24 reported.

Echoing similar views, cricket commentator Malcolm Knox suggested that the Windies should play more matches against Australia as it would help them to become much better Test side.

Despite clinching the Test series, Lehmann admitted that there was still a room for improvement for his side. He further urged Australia to work harder to turn themselves into the world's best team.

With the win, the hosts have also retained the Frank Worrell Trophy and extended their unbeaten run in Test series against West Indies to 23 years.

Australia, which had won the opening match by an innings and 212-run in Hobart, will now play the inconsequential third and the final Test in Sydney, starting from January 3.
