Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon has backed his fellow teammate Mitchell Starc to continue his rampaging form with the new pink ball in the historic day-night Test against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval, which starts on Friday.
Pace spearhead Starc recently bowled fastest spell of his career during the second Test against New Zealand and consequently entered an elite band of fast bowlers who have clocked above 160 km/h.
Lyon said that the 25-year-old pace merchant was eagerly waiting to play with the new ball, News.com.au reported.
Lavishing praise on Starc, Lyon said the former is on top of his game as he is bowling extremely well and with full intensity.
Australia are currently leading the three-match series 1-0 against New Zealand following their 208-run win in the first Test. The second Test ended in a draw.
