'Madonna at Sixty', a recent article in 'The New York Times', has made the singer angry. She lashed out at the article through an Instagram post.
The article published on Wednesday was written by Vanessa Grigoriadis, to which Madonna posted a very long blunt rejoinder.
"Madame on the cover of N.Y.T. Magazine photographed by my dear friend JR. Also sharing my fav photo that never made it in, along with pre-shoot chat and a celebratory glass of wine after many hours of work! To say that I was disappointed in the article would be an understatement," Madonna wrote.
She detailed the time before the feature was published and shared, "The journalist who wrote this article spent days and hours and months with me and was invited into a world which many people don't get to see."
The 'Like a Prayer' singer stated that the journalist chose to focus on trivial matters rather than others. She also wrote that there would have been no mention of her age, had she been a man.
"Neverending comments about my age which would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN!" she wrote.
Madonna added that she felt 'raped' and using the analogy the singer added that she was when she was 19.
"I'm sorry I spent 5 minutes with her. It makes me feel raped. And yes I'm allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19."
"Further proof that the venerable N.Y.T. Is one of the founding fathers of the Patriarchy. And I say---DEATH TO THE PATRIARCHY woven deep into the fabric of Society. I will never stop fighting to eradicate it," Madonna concluded her post.
Madonn's rage comes after the journalist in her article frequently mentioned the problems that Madonna is facing due to her age.
One of the excerpts from the article read, "The sex bomb at 60 was slightly less than bionic."
The writer in another part wrote, "I realized I couldn't ask her about anything as personal as menopause, but I had to broach the topic of ageing," reported Variety.
However, The New York Times hasn't commented on the issue yet.
