Interim Manchester United manager Ryan Giggs was reportedly introduced as 'David' in his first press conference as United boss, leading to much embarrassment.
Giggs, who replaced the sacked David Moyes at the Old Trafford side, was called by United press officer Karen Shotbolt by Moyes' first name as the world's media watched.
According to the Daily Star, Shotbolt, who had introduced the 51-year-old Scot for eleven months, tripped over her words before apologising profusely for her gaffe.
However, the Welsh player-coach took the incident in his stride and laughed off the mistake by claiming the first thing he did as boss was hand himself a massive new five-year playing contract and confirming that he is still involved with the club as a player.
The United legend had admitted that his joking teammates had given him plenty of stick since he was handed the top job on Tuesday and they also mockingly questioned where he would now park his vehicle in the team car park.
