Armed Maoists blew up portions of a bridge in the Kalimela police station area of Odisha's Malkangiri district.
In the wee hours of Saturday, over 40 armed Maoists planted explosives on the bridge that used to link the village with the nearby city.
"About 40 to 50 Naxals blew up a bridge by explosion. Due to this, four wheelers vehicles are not able to travel through the bridge. Only two-wheelers are going that side," said Deputy Superintendent of Police, M. S. Dora.
Police also said that the Maoists had left a handwritten note to own up the attack, which was done to protest against anti-Naxal operations in the region.
