Maoists threatened to kill brick kiln workers in Lohardaga district in Jharkhand on Sunday, if they continued to work in the factory.
Factory worker Hamid Ansari said Maoists came and beat them brutally and threatened of dire consequences.
"They beat us and we started running away. They were not able to catch us. They told us not to work until they asked us to do so and they threatened us that they will kill us next time," said Ansari.
Brick kiln owner, Feroz Khan, said lives of 200 families were dependent on the factory.
"I am not in a position to do anything. I was taking care of 200 families. The families were happy but now they have no option other than leaving this place," said Khan.
