Syed Akbaruddin, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs said that efforts were on to recall three Indian doctors in Ebola-hit Nigeria.
Speaking to ANI, Akbaruddin said, "Our high commissioner in Abuja is in touch with the doctors. At this point, they feel that it is best for them to return." He also added that the Indian embassy was working to allow passage to the doctors.
Earlier, the three doctors had made a video plea, asking the Indian government to intercede on their behalf and alleged that Nigerian authorities were forcing them to work against their will. Nigeria has since refuted these claims.
