Melanie Brown, who is now ready to be free, is for the first time openly talking about divorcing her husband Stephen Belafonte because she feels that he has been way too controlling of her life and

A source said that it's gearing up to be "very nasty" because the 39-year-old singer wants her daughter Madison returned to her in London, even though she is an American citizen, Radar Online reported.

The insider added that the plan had been for the former Spice Girl and daughters Phoenix and Angel to fly out of London with her psychiatrist Charles Sophy on an Air New Zealand flight to Los Angeles. The airline had been chosen as Brown didn't want to tip off the media.

The source noted that but after meeting with Sophy, who had flown specifically to London at Brown's request to accompany her back to the United States, for several hours in her hotel room, the 'X Factor' judge abruptly changed her mind and decided to stay in London.

According to the insider, Brown is hanging around a very bad group of people right now, and long time friends are growing more and more concerned about her.

The insider added that Brown's daughter Madison, back in Los Angeles with her dad, will likely be spending Christmas without her mother, which is a very sad situation.
