The search for missing Malaysia Airline flight MH370 has reportedly turned out to be the most expensive deal in the aviation history, according to statistics.

The four week figures seem to have surpassed the previous record of 54 million dollars that was spent during a two year probe into Air France Flight 447.

According to Sydney Morning Herald, Malaysia's opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, has claimed the government is deliberately concealing information that would help to explain what happened to the missing flight.

While the US Navy has allocated US3.6 million dollars for the deployment of a pinger locator and underwater drone to search for the plane's black box recorders, recently the Pentagon said that aside from the black box locators it had spent US3.3 million dollars on its ships and aircraft during operations to locate MH370.

Vietnam, reportedly, spent more than US8 million dollars searching for the plane in the South China Sea.

Meanwhile, 12 aircraft scour the seas for debris from the plane each day.

Meanwhile, retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston said that he would give an overall estimate of the cost at a later date, saying that it was a lot of money.
