Father of Mohammed Emwazi, popularly known as Islamic state (IS) militant 'Jihadi John', has said that there is no proof that the masked executioner in video clips and footage is his son Mohammed.
According to CNN, Jassem Emwazi said that what is being circulated in the media were "false rumours".
Emwazi has hired an attorney and planned to sue anyone who claimed that his son Mohammed Emwazi is Jihadi John.
The lawyer said that Emwazi would soon hold a press conference and that he was a "victim of libel".
Two U.S. officials and two U.S. congressional sources had confirmed last week that Jihadi John was Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti-born Londoner.
